Mexican visual artist born in 1972, Emiliano Gironella Parra combines printmaking, sculpture, and painting to explore Mexican themes such as cantinas, bulls, and literature, with a critical focus on violence. Creator of the Artempatíaproject, he uses art as a tool against violence, working with the children of fallen police officers.
He has produced notable works such as the mural Exilio at the Colegio de México and the series Pluma y Plomo. His work has been recognized in international forums such as King’s College London and has received awards such as the Malvinas. He lives and works promoting social criticism through art.
