Sergio Hernández

Born in 1957 in the Sierra Mixteca, Oaxaca, Sergio Hernández is a prominent Mexican visual artist. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado “La Esmeralda” in Mexico City, before moving to Europe in 1987, where he began his training in printmaking.

His work spans various mediums, including printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, painting, and drawing, and is present in major collections such as those of the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City and the Museum Würth Künzelau in Germany. Since the 1980s, he has held numerous solo exhibitions, both in Mexico and abroad.
